This is the first digital camera I have purchased. I like to travel and wanted something durable that was in my price range, and this fit the bill.I was not aware of the sliding lens cover, when I bought it, but to use a feature that allows you to turn the camera on and off simpling moving the lid up and down. I was slightly disappointed by the only 3x optical zoom and turned on the additional digital zoom after my first use.Not much use so far, but the menu is quite easy and I look forward to more use of the. .
